Date of this Version
February 2000
Abstract
A group calling themselves the Students of Color is occupying the seventh floor of the student union at the University of Michigan. They are protesting the schools support of a secret society called Michigamua. They claim this group exploits, ridicules, and perpetuates stereotypes of Native Americans. They are demanding that university officials sever all ties with the allegedly racist group. Are race relations on college campuses ready to explode into the public eye?
