Abstract

This study reviewed literature on mobile library sustainability in public libraries as the solution to effective information services delivery to rural dwellers in Nigeria. The study reviewed relevant literature on issues bothering the concept of mobile library, an overview of mobile library services in Nigeria, types of mobile libraries, mobile library resources, mobile library services, goals and objectives of mobile libraries, status of mobile libraries in Nigeria, relevance of mobile libraries to information services delivery among rural dwellers in Nigeria, strategies that can be adopted to sustain mobile libraries in Nigeria, as well factors militating against the deployment of mobile library services to rural communities. The study reviewed relevant literature on the topic of discussion and the researcher used Google and other search engines to access scholarly articles from databases that are open access and are relevant to the study which formed the basis for the literature that was reviewed and from where conclusions were drawn based on the assertions and opinions of other authors as reviewed in the literature to support the original idea of the author.
