Abstract
Open Educational Resources (OER) are digital texts, news media, and other types of resources publicly accessible under an open license, and they can be used for teaching, learning, evaluation, and research. OER is the term for information and products that are freely used, remixed, improved, and redistributed by anybody with the owner's permission under specific licenses. These are designed to be adjusted for regionally unique circumstances to reduce barriers to accessibility through efficient instruction. The creation and promotion of free educational resources are often motivated by providing a better and alternative educational perspective. Open educational resources are educational, research, and instructional materials in any format or medium that are in the public domain, copyright-protected, and distributed under an open license that permits unrestricted access, repurposing, adaptation, and redistribution by others. This study discovers the students and faculty of Nrupathunga University's use and awareness of open educational resources. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents. The results revealed that 86.4% of individuals are familiar with the concept of Open Educational Resources. The collected data reveals how frequently respondents use Open Educational Resources daily responses (90), accounting for 48.6% of the total. The findings also reveal that major use of Textbooks/Coursebooks (OER) (124) responses, accounted for 66% of the total.
