Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine and compare water use, dry matter production and water use efficiency of bromegrass for 5 soil moisture levels under semi-humid climatic conditions.

The average bromegrass production for five moisture treatments for 1966, 1967 and 1968 ranged from 5018 to 6438 pounds per acre. The irrigated plots produced the highest dry matter yield 6438 pounds per acre and the plots on 26.5 percent slope had the lowest yield, 5018 pounds per acre. The average water use by bromegrass for the three year period ranged from 19.3 to 29.2 inches.
