Abstract
Forty-five potato varieties representative of a wide range of vine types were utilized in studies with the following objectives:
-
To determine potato varietal characteristics in water usage,
-
To determine the immediate and protracted effects of high temperatures on potato plants,
-
To ascertain the morphological and physiological factors associated with varieties in varietal response to heat and drouth, and
-
To compare and evaluate various methods of testing potato varieties for resistance to heat and drouth.
