Abstract
The investigation was undertaken to implement the knowledge of relationship between laboratory determined soil properties and nitrogen yield response of crops grown on soils in the field. The three specific objectives were: (1) to correlate yield of nitrogen in the greenhouse with various methods for measuring nitrogen in the soil, (2) to modify and develop a practical procedure for determining the nitrification rate of a soil, and (3) to correlate yield response in the field with various methods for measuring nitrogen in the soil.
