Abstract
The objective of this work was to investigate the pattern of soil movement for both the saturated and unsaturated state from the point of view of the change in principal stress directions. As the work with saturated soil is comparatively new, the investigations were to be compared with the observations of identical runs on dry soil. Conclusions were to be made on how the saturated conditions differ from dry conditions and why.
