Abstract
This study has been made for the purpose of collecting significant research material about the Negro in our society which may be useful to the caseworker in the casework situation. The selection of material is oriented toward some of the problems which are created by the existence of stereotyped beliefs about the Negro, and which may consciously or unconsciously influence the agency, the caseworker, and the casework process. Areas of assistance-giving (both public and private), family service, and child welfare are the areas which are to be considered in this study.
