Abstract
This study reported herein had two objectives: a) a study of the variation in shelter effect upon microclimate under different weather conditions; b) a study of the differences in varietal responses of snap bean, Phaseolus vulgaris, to the protecting effects of the windbreak. Shelter-induced differences in the microclimate and in growth and development of two commercial varieties of snap bean (Tendercrop and Bush Blue Lake) were observed during the growing season of 1964 at Mead, Nebraska.
