Abstract
This thesis is an evaluation of the sulfur status of the soils of Nebraska. Greenhouse, field and laboratory experiments were utilized to study the response of alfalfa to the application of sulfur and to evaluate promising soil sulfur tests for used by the University soil testing service.
The primary objectives of the experiment were:
1. To determine the major areas of sulfur deficiency in Nebraska.
2. To gain more information on the sulfur levels of the soils of the state.
3. To correlate soil sulfur level with alfalfa yield response.
3. To select a soil test for sulfur that is correlated with alfalfa yield response.
