CLARENCE W RICHARD, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

This study was stilated by the unavailability of any reports on specific practice and procedure for use in setting up a functional program of adult education in the fall of 1955 in Los Alamos, New Mexico, a city of some 13,000 population.Although a small program, consisting for the most part of courses offered to teachers by colleges and universities, did exist in Los Alamos, no provision was made for a director of the program, no records existed showing the courses that had been offered, or courses that were needed, no provision had been made to finance a program, and no records had been kept of students who had attended the classes.
