A search for stop squarks in proton-antiproton collisions at center of mass energy = 1.8TeV utilizing the DZero detector

Carl LaVern Lundstedt, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

Reported here are the techniques and results of a search for the supersymmetric (SUSY) partner of the top quark. This search concentrates on stop/anti-stop pair production with the dominant decay being stop to charm plus the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). The signature in the DZERO detector is 2 jets, from the charm hadronization and missing transverse energy from the escaping LSP. The result of this search is a limit on light stop production as a function of stop and LSP masses, expressed as a 95% confidence curve in stop/LSP space.
