AN INVESTIGATION OF THE FUNCTIONS OF PUBLIC JUNIOR COLLEGES IN IOWA

GEORGE WAYNE BOWMAN, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

The widespread interest in the junior colleges of Iowa, together with the lack of understanding of their functions and of their present growth, fully warrants a study of the Iowa public Junior colleges and their proper functions. The junior college movement is a complex subject because it has so many manifestations, but it is interesting because it is young and has spirit. It means many things to many people and therefore gives one all the excitement of adventure which is characteristic of new undertakings.

Subject Area
