A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TWO TYPES OF ORGANIZATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS CENTERS

SEDLEY DUANE HALL, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

Man has always made use of "things" in learning. History tells us that early civilized man used stones for counting, for example. Designs he drew upon the ground symbolized numerical values; from this our present mumeration system evolved. The mysterious and complicated hiero- glyphics the early Egyptians used in recording events have intrigued men of history and science for centuries. The invention of the printing press has unquestionably been one of the great achievements of mankind because it made learning immensely more convenient and attainable.
