European Integration: A View From the Nation-States
Abstract
As this study is being prepared, European integration has expanded to include the United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland and Norway. Clearly, the effort to unite Europe in a single overarching political system has begun to move forward once again. Questions as to what effect this expansion will have on the scope and level of integration remain to be answered. Thus, it is perhaps important that we take one more look at the factors and conditions which have facilitated the European Community's growth.
