Abstract

Intelligence and social leadership are two of the most striking characteristics of the personality. Intelligence has a serendiptious effect on the personality which makes men and women unique and totally different human beings from one another. The qualities of intelligence and social leadership were identified in the prehistoric times when the individual distinguished himself from the group and tribe. During the Biblical times, the New Testament makes reference to wisdom and Intelligence as an important component in leadership ability. The Romans and the Greeks made constant mention of the "intellectually elite" personality. Plato ascribed to the belief that we could attain the ultimate social harmony through a selective process resulting in 2 the very wisest becoming rulers." In the Roman era the selection process for educational training was given to those born into the elite citizenry.
