Derivatives of benzo(h)quinoline

Richard J Gobeil, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

Malaria is one of the oldest infectious diseases of man- kind. It is estimated that even in peacetime this disease 1 causes the death of over three million persons annually. With the advent of this war, effective malariotherapy is even more necessary, for large numbers of susceptible persons are subjected to malaria-infested regions. Since our chief source of quinine has been shut off, we must depend more and more upon synthetic drugs for combating the menace of malaria.
