Abstract
Salvage is a collection of poetry exploring themes of ownership, disaster, and day-to-day experiences of the American Midwest. The project began after the Joplin, Missouri, tornado of May 2011, and many of the individual poems explore the initial reaction and long-term recovery of the town and its inhabitants.
