Abstract
The comprehensive nature of Walter Prescott Webb's (1931) text, The Great Plains, has made this book a classic reference. However, the scientific errors and omissions, as well as the availability of more current research on the geology, hydrology, and physical geography of the region, suggest that the information presented should be viewed with more skepticism.
