Abstract

The following document is a Strategic Audit of the firm based in Lincoln, Nebraska known as Sandhills Publishing Company. Through analysis of the company on an External and Internal level, the Audit presents several Strategic Alternatives for Sandhills’ future based on Evaluation Criteria based in the same research. A more detailed implementation plan is provided for the most feasible alternative, increasing the likelihood Sandhills’ websites will appear in the top page of a Google Search. A contingency plan for the alternative is included in the audit.

Sandhills is analyzed on an External and Internal level, using tools such as Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT Analysis, and PEST Analysis. Sandhills’ Core and Distinctive Competencies are also measured to determine their Competitive Advantage. Sources of information include information from previous and current employees of Sandhills (particularly Recruiter Mike Bandemer and Chief Administration Officer Nancy Paasch), individuals with business and personal ties to the company (Jude Werner), online references on a variety of topics, views, and suggestions, and of course Sandhills’ websites and publications.
