Professional Branding of an Information Professional through ICT for Effective Service Delivery

Abstract

This paper assesses the role of professional branding through information technology for effective service delivery in libraries and information centres. The paper was introduced by a brief description professional branding and information technology which has altered the way services are being delivered in libraries and information centres. This paper brought to light basics for effective service delivery and ways information centres and libraries can market their organizations and deliver their services effectively. The study concludes that it is high time personnel in information centres and libraries left their traditional comfort zones because information technology is moving so fast and they may be left behind. The study recommends that there is need to train , develop themselves, ensure that they are visible globally amongst other things in order to keep up the pace and remain relevant in the information environment.
