Abstract
This study investigates the use of Internet resources by faculty and research scholars including purposes for use, its impact on teaching and research, Internet resources and services uses, and the problems faced while using the Internet. A questionnaire was used to collect data from faculty members and research scholars in Gulbarga University. A total number 305 (112+193) questionnaires were distributed to the users, and 214 valid questionnaires were collected from the faculty member (67) and research scholars (147). Findings included that a majority of the users have been using the internet for two to four years. Slow speed, downloading problems, and lack of training are the major problems. Gulbarga University must improve its information and communication technology, including email access, orientation and training programmes in the use of Internet resources and facilities in library.
