Unpublished Paper Presented at the National Conference and Exhibition of the School of Engineering, Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi Uku, from 3rd to 6th of December, 2019.

Abstract

This paper focused on identifying ways of improving the web presence and visibility of Delta State Polytechnics, Ogwashi-Uku, Ozoro and Oghara, to enable them to maximize the potentials of innovative technologies for effective education delivery. The paper treated what web presence and visibility mean and how they can be measured. The web presence and visibility of the three Delta State polytechnics were comparatively examined. The comparative analyses indicate that Ozoro Poly has the highest web presence and visibility followed by Oghara Poly, then Ogwashi-Uku Poly. The causes of poor web presence and visibility were identified. It was recommended that polytechnic management should prioritize research activities; put in place a good web Policy; increase activities on each polytechnic’s website including the documentation of staff profiles and issuance of institutional e-mail addresses to all staff; encouraging all scholars to place all their publications (pre-prints and post-prints) on the institutions web domains.
