Abstract
There is a need for effective cooperation between the teacher and the library staff, if the students are to be given quality and meaningful university education. By training, attitude, orientation, function, and commitment, the librarian is a teacher in any academic setting. Librarians' responsibilities extend far beyond organizing and maintaining library collections. Their major responsibility is to carry out the educational function of the parent institution. This article explores the role of librarians and suggests ways to strengthen cooperation between librarians and teachers.
