Abstract

The study examined citation analysis of authors and articles characterization in the Technology and Development: a Journal of scientific and technological research, Federal University of Technology Yola. It focused on number of articles in each volume, references cited, levels of authors’ collaborations, subjects covered, authors’ institutional affiliations and geographical location of the authors. The study revealed that a total of 96 articles were published in the five volumes (1991-1995), a total of 1421 references were cited from different sources of information. Single authored articles ranked highest followed by two authors articles. Majority of the authors are from universities 148(92.50%). The natural sciences received the highest coverage 46 (47.42%). The journal had received a wider spread geographically but, prominently from Yola 50 (31.65%). It is recommended that the management of the journal should also work towards its initial frequency of publication to remain current and strengthen its spread to cover wider international contributors for exchange of knowledge and ideas.
