Conflict at Big Mountain (2/1/00)

Date of this Version

February 2000

Abstract

More than 10,000 Navajo people have been relocated from ancestral lands since Congress passed the Navajo/Hopi Relocation Act some 25 years ago. This act is still being used to forcibly remove Navajos from their traditional homelands on Big Mountain. The Hopi feel that a decision has been made and the Navajo must go. Guests include Bahe Katenay, an organizer for Navajo Resistors at Big Mountain.
