Abstract

In recognition of Black History Month we offer a glimpse of the shared heritage between Native and African Americans. This blending of cultures has created unique tribal identities in parts of Indian Country as well as producing unity, controversy, and even hostility in our Native communities. What is the shared history and heritage between Blacks and Indians? Guests include historian Dr. William Loren Katz.
