Abstract
Members of the Yakama Nation are debating whether or not to ban alcohol on their 1.3-million acre reservation, which runs alongside the Cascade Mountains in lower Washington. A three-member board approved a resolution banning alcohol on all reservation lands, including deeded land that was sold to private owners a century ago. Who has jurisdiction over the sale of alcohol on Yakama? Invited guests include Yakama tribal council member Jack Fiander.
