Stolen Secrets (6/21/00)

Date of this Version

June 2000

Abstract

Security within the Department of Energy, or rather the lack thereof, has made the headlines again as two computer hard drives with information on how to construct and dismantle nuclear bombs came up missing. They were later found, but the question still lingers as to where they were all this time and if the secrets contained on the hard drives were ever downloaded or compromised. This latest security breach of our national defense has Congress hopping mad and demanding answers. Guests include Greg Mello of the Los Alamos Study Group and Cara Ong of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation.
