Abstract

This document represents the joint work efforts of a work group from the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals in partnership with the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center. (©Association of Threat Assessment Professionals; CRC Press, A Taylor Francis Group; University of Nebraska Public Policy Center.) The definition of those terms without a specific source reference is based on the common usage in the field of threat management.

The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) spearheaded this effort to establish a list of terms and phrases commonly used in the practice of threat assessment and management. The University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, with funding from the State of Nebraska, provided facilitation and research expertise to produce this document in conjunction with a group of ATAP volunteers forming an informal work group to provide content expertise as the glossary was constructed. The following individuals contributed heavily to the development of this Glossary: Denise Bulling, PhD; Fredrick Calhoun; James Cawood, MA; Larry Golba MA; Brandon Hollister; J. Reid Meloy, PhD; Mario J. Scalora, PhD; Steve Weston, JD; William Zimmerman
