Abstract

This special text is a training aid with an introduction giving the basic vocabulary for describing a tank; key features to note when trying to identify a tank; basic descriptions of US, allied, and Soviet tanks; suggestions for tank identification instructions; references; and one-page illustrated descriptions of several late model Soviet tanks and armored personnel vehicles. The basic descriptions of the various tanks include typically a narrative description, outline drawings from different vantage points, and a photograph.
