Abstract
I invite you to join the American Judges Association as we gather for our 2013 Annual Educational Conference. The conference will be held September 22–27 at the luxurious Fairmont Orchid on “The Big Island” of Hawaii. Every year I look forward to the AJA conference, and this year is no exception. Not only do I get a chance to attend fascinating educational sessions on a variety of topics of interest to me as a judge, but also to see friends I have made over the years and to make new ones. The contacts I have made through AJA have provided me with an invaluable network across the United States and Canada — I can send an e-mail or pick up the phone and get ideas on how to address many of the problems we all face on the bench.
