Abstract

The objective of this study was to gather additional information on the differences in genetic growth rates in the avian embryo and to determine whether any heterosis is detectable when two and three way crosses are used.

The growth rate of two and three way crossbred embryos was studied by measuring four stages of development: 38 hour somites, 6, 10 and 15 day embryo weights.
