Abstract

The subject of the insurance aspects of peacetime atomic power is one of great importance, but it is so new that this writer found very little printed material directly related to it. There is abundant material on the subject of insurance, and a magnitude of printed material concerning atomic energy; but the alliance of the two was seldom found. The writer has endeavored to bring some of the important relationships together in one package. The primary limitation of the project was the newness of the subject. Heavy reliance was placed upon the Nebraska State Department of Insurance and correspondence with insurance syndicates.

The chapters will discuss the issue in depth. Concepts covered include testing for workmen’s compensation, legal and legislative problems, the Price-Anderson Act, coverage afforded, and the rating of atomic hazards.
