Abstract

Studies were conducted to help determine the effects of certain soil factors on breakdown and phytotoxicity of dicamba. Microbial and/or chemical degradation of dicamba were studied in topsoil and subsoil horizons of two soil profiles and in solution cultures. The susceptibility of dicamba to photodecomposition was also determined and compared with that of amiben. Phytotoxicity was studied as affected by pH and by dicamba placement depth.
