Abstract

This study was made to determine the nature of the Ephemeropteran fauna of Nebraska.Although the major portion of this paper is concerned with the taxonomy of Nebraska mayflies, sections also include a summary of the biology, ecology, and taxonomy of Ephemeropteran as well information on collecting methods and equipment, rearing, preservation and preparation of study material.

The study collected 39 species of mayflies representing 17 genera in the state. Thirty-five of identified species are new distributional records for Nebraska.
