Abstract

One of the most important characteristics of a communication system is its ability to operate effectively when disturbances other than the transmitted signal are received along with the signal. In the case of amplitude modulation systems, this depends partly on the detector circuit which is used. Thus a study of the noise characteristics of the special detector is of practical importance. Aside from the practical aspect of this investigation, there is the purely academic problem of investigating more fully the operation of a new circuit.
