Abstract

The two major problems of the poultry industry are the efficient production of quality products, and the efficient marketing of these products. The production of quality products does not insure the success of a poultry enterprise, since the best of products deteriorate before reaching the consumer if not handled properly. The cost of processing and marketing eggs and poultry must be kept at a minimum if the producer is to secure a large enough profit to encourage him to enlarge or even to maintain his poultry enterprise. Research is essential to improvement in the methods of marketing poultry.
