Abstract
Dogs are frequently presented to clinics during the summer months exhibiting signs of allergy. There is need for a simple specific test conducted by a veterinarian that can verify the clinical diagnosis of allergy. The scratch skin test is a practical diagnostic test for inhalant allergens when properly administered and evaluated. A correlation was established between positive reactions, allergic signs, eosinophilia and months of high pollen counts for the allergens used.
