Abstract

The cattle industry accounted for 45 per cent of the total cash receipts in Nebraska in 1963. The size of the industry indicates that changes in the industry can affect not only the cattle producer but also the marketing agency, the slaughter plant, and the beef consumer.

The North Central Livestock Research Committee has undertaken a study which is aimed at examining these changes. The emphasis in this study is on the changing marketing patterns of cattle used by farmers in the eastern one-half of Nebraska.
