Abstract

The purpose of this study was to collect evidence concerning some of the secondary home economics programs in the State of Nebraska through the eyes of graduates of the program in order to determine its effectiveness in preparing them for their future roles. Because the writer was employed as Assistant State Supervisor of Home Economics Education, the findings of this study would be of service in the Department of Education and also be representative of Nebraska’s contribution to the 1968 evaluation.

It was hoped that by preparing the results of this study for perusal of the President’s Advisory Council, home economics in the secondary school would be recognized as worthy of inclusion in any amendments to the Vocational Education Act of 1963 which might be forthcoming.
