Abstract

Extension circular 256 discusses using urea as a protein extender for ruminants. It addresses several questions about the superiority of urea to other sources of protein, if urea is poisonous, how much urea should be fed, and several more. It provides three tables which show the recommended nutrient allowances for beef cattle, protein equivalent furnished, and percent of urea in supplement.
