Abstract

Extension Circulation 1535 is called Common Stalk Borer and describes an adult insect as a brownish gray moth. The larva or “borer” is a smooth bodied caterpillar and it is chocolate or purplish brown with a white stripe down the entire back. It also talks about what plants they infest, the injuries they make on plants, their life history, and how to control and infestation.
