Abstract
During the 2021-2022 school year, Nelnet Business Services (NBS) sponsored a Design Studio project to create an event ticket management system for higher education institutions. The NBS division of Nelnet creates campus payment and technology solutions for higher education institutions, and NBS customers have commonly requested an event ticketing solution to go along with NBS’s other products. To accomplish this goal, the 2021-2022 Nelnet Design Studio team developed an event ticketing solution for higher education institutions to integrate with Nelnet’s other products. The solution allows users to view a list of available tickets for events at their institutions, purchase tickets, reserve seats, and display ticket barcodes to be scanned into an event. In addition, the solution allows event coordinators to easily create and manage events, and it gives event volunteers the tools to quickly scan in users at events based on the users’ ticket barcodes. This event ticketing solution reduces costs for Nelnet’s customers and allows for better integration with Nelnet’s existing products.
