Abstract

The main objective of this study is to outline the fundamental skills that information scientists (LIS) working in educational settings may provide. The core competencies needed by library science professionals working in academic libraries are covered in this paper. The study discusses the competencies that librarians need possess in order to offer full services to their patrons. The establishment of academic and professional programmes can benefit from an understanding of the skill needed to work in the field of library and information science. In the study, comprehensive services are covered. The creation of academic and professional programmes can benefit from an understanding of the competencies needed to work in the field of library and information science.
