instrumentation: Flute 1 (Picc.), Flute 2, Oboe 1, Oboe 2, Clarinet 1, Clarinet 2, Bassoon 1, Bassoon 2, Horn 1, Horn 2, Horn 3, Horn 4, Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, Trombone 1, Trombone 2, Trombone 3, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion 1, Percussion 2, Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, & Double Bass
program note The first two and a half movements were written in 1965 but for various reasons remained unfinished until 2018 when I began revisited the score and finished the third movement and added a new finale. An attenpt was made to continue in the same style as the earlier music, a tonal-modal idiom, reflecting the influence of Hindemith, Bartok, Shostakovich etc. while at the same time the older half was revised hopefully reflecting an older. more experienced composer.
