Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the removal of all natural teeth and the wearing of complete dentures upon oral-form discrimination.
Ten edentulous subjects, ranging in age from 26 to 37 and including six women and four men, were tested by the two methods of oral-form discrimination; once with complete dentures in place; once with them removed. Ten subjects with all of their own natural teeth, matched for age and sex with the edentulous subjects, were tested by the same two methods.
