Research Interests:

Recombinant protein production from the methyltrophic yeast Pichia pastoris during cell density fermentation and optimization of fermentation conditions.

Down steam processing of the fermentation broth immediately following fermentation by membrane filtration, fluidized bed chromatography is of prime interest due to the high cell density and the problems associated with handling high solids fermentation. Several projects are ongoing in the laboratory on the purification of recombinant produced from Pichia.

Membrane processing of n-butanol by pervaporation with focus on membrane development to optimize membrane flux and selectivity.
