Abstract
El presente trabajo se centra en el análisis de unos vasos de piedra, producidos en la región valliserrana del noroeste argentino durante el Período Formativo, que se destacan por su escaso número, su particular iconografía que gira en torno a felinos y humanos masculinos, y la maestría en su ejecución. Estos recipientes habrían estado asociados al consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en rituales de carácter chamánico. A través del análisis iconográfico articulado con las características materiales y funcionales se indaga el rol de estos objetos como agentes de legitimación y constitución del poder ejercido por los chamanes.
This paper analyzes lithic vessels, produced in the Argentine Northwest during the Formative Period, which stand out for their reduced number, their particular iconography that revolves around felines and male humans, and the excellent execution. These containers would be associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances in shamanic rituals. Through the iconography analysis articulated with the material and functional characteristics, the role of these objects as legitimation and constitution agents of shamanic power is investigated.
