Abstract
L’examen de l’oeuvre de Maurois, le subject de notre thèse, sera entrepris afin de démontrer quelle est la dette de la littérature biographique envers son talent artistique. Nous nous proposons de précéder l’étude sur Maurois par un précis historique du développement de la biographie en France, et d’amener, d’étapes en étapes, la biographie comme genre littéraire au point ou Maurois a été à même d’y contribuer avec tant de bonheur.
Abstract (English translation): The examination of Maurois’s work, the subject of our thesis, will be undertaken so as to show what debt biographical literature has toward its artistic talent. We propose to precede the study of Maurois by a historical summary of the development of biography in France, and to bring, step by step, biography, the literary genre, to the stage where Maurois was directly contributing with such good fortune.
